This post is sponsored by General Mills, but all opinions are my own.
Let’s face it, the New Year means starting all over and we know that means the back-to-school morning struggle is headed our way. I am a big-time morning person, but it can be quite a task to wrangle my kids and get them into a routine. I love the feeling of being productive in the morning, but my kids bring in a whole different level of inefficiency to the mix. So, how do you go from chaos to fun and productive in your morning routine? Well, I’m sharing our top 5 ways to start your morning off right. Plus, you can even add some fun with NEW cereals from General Mills. And, it all starts the night before!
Have A Plan
Every good routine starts with a plan, so I like to create a game plan for our morning. If this is your first time creating a routine, it might help to write out everything you need to accomplish in the morning, then put an order to it. For example, I need to check emails, do my make up, fix my hair, make breakfast, get the kids ready, etc. After I have everything listed out, I put an order to our morning. For example, I check emails, then make breakfast, then do my hair and makeup.. etc. It also helps me to visualize everything in my head the night before to make sure I know what we have to do.
Organize the Night Before
My ultimate secret to starting your day off right is to prep the night before. I like to set out what each kid is wearing the next day so that there are no arguments. I let them choose between two options and we stick to it. I also fill up their cups with milk and put them in the fridge so all I have to do is grab them and set them on the table. I also make sure their lunches are packed as much as possible the night before and I go through their backpacks to make sure we haven’t missed anything.
Pick Your Breakfast
Another big thing I prep is what they will be having for breakfast. My kids are LOVING the NEW General Mills cereals available at Walmart right now. They decide between Jolly Rancher Cereal, Hershey’s Kisses Cereal, and Trix™ Trolls with Marshmallows Cereal the night before and I have the boxes already set out. The kids think the new flavors at Walmart are so FUN! Plus, they taste so so good! Friends, if you are looking for a fun way to start your New Years’ morning routine, I highly suggest trying out these new cereals. They do not disappoint.
Clear Your Slate
I love to start each day with a clean slate. I wake up and the first thing I do is roll over and check my messages. My inbox easily piles up throughout the night and day, so I like to start by reading all of the messages, filing them appropriately, and answering a few if I can. I also go through each of my social media outlets, check those messages and clear ones that I can clear. By starting the day with an empty inbox, it sets me up for a clean slate and allows me to be the best mom I can be without having a lot on my plate.
Have Fun
This leads me to my next point, have fun! Starting off the morning on the right foot is key and we do that with a fun array of General Mills cereals for breakfast. We also allow some time in our schedule to just be ourselves and have fun. Typically the kids have a little bit of time to play after they eat breakfast. While they are playing, I am getting ready, so its the perfect combination!
I hope these 5 tips help you start your day off right! I know for us, the morning routine is key and adding in some fun with a delicious breakfast. All three NEW cereals are currently in stories, so you can grab them today and put some fun in your morning routine. Trust me, you want this cereal in your pantry!
