How to Make a Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board

This post is sponsored by General Mills, but all opinions are my own.

Taco Tuesday is a staple every week in our house. We are big taco fans and I love to mix it up and serve our tacos in different ways with extra sides and even with fun decor sometimes to mix it up. We love soft tacos, hard tacos, taco bowls… you name it! Kevin and I have had the Taco Tuesday tradition since college, and it’s so fun to continue it on with our kiddos now. They love when I mix in some fun decor in Taco Tuesday and they were over the moon excited about the Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board I made recently. Interested in making a Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board? No worries, I will break down How to make a Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board the whole family will love with favorites like Old El Paso™ Stand ‘n Stuff Shells, Traditional Refried Beans and delicious Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning from Sam’s Club.

What is a “Charcuterie Board”?

Let’s start with the basics just in case you haven’t heard of one before. Traditionally speaking, a charcuterie board consists of a variety of meats and cheeses and often fruit or nuts; essentially it is a fancy word for a meat and cheese board! However, charcuterie boards are very popular right now, and people have been branching out to include “themed” boards. Essentially, when you hear the words “charcuterie board”, think big, fun platter of food. The idea is a fun way to share food in a visually appeasing way full of color and variety. It’s low maintenance, and everyone can choose and help themselves to exactly what they want.

HOW TO MAKE A Taco Tuesday CHARCUTERIE BOARD

Set Out Your Items: First things first, I like to set out all of my items, so I can visually see everything all in one place. You will need a big board. I like to use a big, rectangle wooden board we own for mine. For our Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board, I used Old El Paso™ Stand ‘n Stuff Shells, Old El Paso™ Traditional Refried Beans, ground meat seasoned with Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, rice, sour cream, guacamole and sour cream from Sam’s Club.

Select Your Focal Point: Once you pick up all your items from Sam’s Club, you are ready to craft your board. I like to start with the focal point which, in this case, is the line of Old El Paso™ Stand ‘n Stuff Shells.
Place Your Side Items: Once you have your main item in place, you can put your other items in bowls or dishes and then add smaller items around them. I like to include a lot of different options and vary the colors of items to give the board that “pop” look. There aren’t a ton of rules when it comes to placement, just begin at your focal point, place your side dishes around, then work around those to fill in the gaps.

Make Your Hot Items:
After you have a general idea of your board, its time to make your hot items. I like to make my hot items last so that they stay warm for everyone. I love using Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning in my ground meat. I also made the  Old El Paso™ Traditional Refried Beans and the rice.

Add in Theme Pieces:Finally, add in your theme pieces to the board for more creativity and festive flare. I like using cupcake toppers that match the theme because they are easy to stick in different side items.

Have Fun: Yes, have fun with it! Most of the time, we love creating the board as a family and having fun with it. It’s all of our favorite foods for Taco Tuesday, so we love putting them together to enjoy!

We really loved making this Taco Tuesday Charcuterie Board, and I hope this helps you create one of your own. Really what’s important is variety and picking your favorites. I know everyone will enjoy it if I have a huge variety, and it works every time! Plus, don’t forget to grab your Old El Paso™ essentials at Sam’s Club and online at samclub.com.
