Its Lake Time! Bust out those lake bags and stock them up. Since moving back closer to our parents, we have been spending a lot of time at Kevin’s parents’ lake house. Today, I am sharing our Clarke Family Lake Bag Essentials. Our lake bag essentials have changed a lot this year due to a little one and toddler, but that makes it all the more fun. It is such a blast watching Brooke play in the water and enjoy time outside.
Towels
Towels are a must have for any lake bag unless you want to ride all the way home wet. We pack two adult towels and one toddler towel. I’m sure next year we will have to bring brother a towel of his own. I love big beach towels, so that I can spread out on the dock and really relax.
Life Jackets
Everybody needs life jackets! We all love riding on the boat and jet skis, so it’s life jackets all around for this family. Brooke wears her life jacket for swim time in the lake too. It’s so important to make sure you have the right life jacket for your child’s age/weight range and for yourself.
Hyland’s Earache Drops
These are a big essential for our family. Growing up, I struggled with earaches a lot during summer and Brooke does as well. We had tubes put in Brooke’s ears right before she turned one because of all her ear issues. Hyland’s Earache Drops really help relieve symptoms of earaches such as fever, pain, irritability and sleeplessness, so we make sure to use them after each day of non-chlorinated water fun. Hyland’s Earache Drops are a natural, homeopathically-prepared blend of botanicals and minerals. We love and trust the Hyland’s brand and Hyland’s Earache Drops are such a lifesaver in summertime.
Sunscreen
Our whole family lathers up with sunscreen to protect their skin. I also make sure Brooke and Brother have their baby sunscreen on every inch of their skin that’s showing. And, Kevin always puts some on as well.
Snacks
You can’t have a successful lake day without good food! I always get an appetite at the lake and I love bringing fun snacks for the whole family. Brooke is a big fan of snack time just like mommy.
Water
Water is a huge must! It is so easy to get dehydrated in the summer heat. We each bring our own bottle of water and normally end up wanting more when we get home. It’s really important to be sure you hydrate all day long.
