Start with something you love
When you wake up, you can easily get overwhelmed with your to-do list and the chaos of kids needing your every attention. To combat this, I start with something I love – a nice, very large cup of coffee. For you, it might mean a morning work out, making breakfast for your family, or something completely different. But, start your day with something that brings you joy.
Fill your tank
Next, make sure you fill your tank. Some days, I get so busy that I forget to eat breakfast, and then, I find myself snacking too much. Make sure you have a plan to fill your tank. I love doing this by keeping great snacking options in our house like Simple Mills Soft Baked Bars from Walmart (Ibotta offer below). They are a great snack for any time of day with a delightful-to-eat texture and whole-food heartiness packed into every bite. They are chock-full of nuts, seeds, and fruit pieces for a satisfying blend of flavors and textures. You really can’t go wrong!
Create a plan
The next tip in my toolbox is creating a plan. Plan. Plan. Plan. I typically start by doing this the night before, then I sit down with my planner at the start of the day and go over my to-do list and prioritize everything. By creating a prioritization list, I can easily go down my checklist and accomplish things in my day. Having a written plan is half the battle.
Me Time
Next, create me time in your day. Start your day with joy and craft time for yourself throughout your day. You need to make sure you have a little time for yourself – everyone needs a break. I do this by journaling my gratitude or reading a little after lunch. It is time for me to be thankful or escape into a book for a little bit. It just recharges me and helps my overall productivity by preventing burn out. I know reading might not be your thing, so find what you like.
Have Fun
Speaking of burn out, don’t forget to have fun! Even a long workday doesn’t have to be boring. Put on your favorite show in the background or listen to music. I love to have fun music playing to reset my mood or have an old show on in the background while I work. I know for some people, “fun” might look different, but for me, these two things work really well to keep my mood up and keep me going strong.
Overall, this might look slightly different for you, but the point is to start with something that makes you joyful, fill your tank, and craft fun times in your day to keep you going strong. Music and snacks are my thing and that’s why Simple Mills is a great snacking option to keep me productive. Their whole food heartiness never tasted so good and it delights taste buds with satisfaction packed into every bite.
