Bust Out The Sandals

It is now consistently hot in Texas, so I am breaking out my sandal collection! Today I wanted to share a new member of my closet with you. Avarca’s from The Avarca Store. Have you heard of them? You may have even seen them circulating around Instagram lately.

Avarcas, also known as Abarcas o Menorquinas is the traditional footwear in Menorca, where culture, tradition, and fashion meets with a family-run style/artisan business ethics. Menorca is not only the home of the traditional avarca leather sandals, it is also a beautiful small island in the Mediterranean sea in Spain.

The first thing I noticed when I opened my package from The Avarca Store was the quality. I haven’t owned shoes with this outstanding quality in a long time. They are handmade eco-friendly artisanal leather sandals. You can immediately tell how durable they are and you can see that they are going to be extremely comfortable.

The Avarca Store is owned by Samuel and his wife. Samuel was born and raised in Menorca and moved to New York to pursue his career in Manhattan. Once he moved to the USA, he couldn’t find avarcas anywhere, and thus The Avarca Store was born when he began to import avarcas from the best artisans in Menorca.
