Father’s day is quickly approaching and after being here at our parents house these past few days, it has me thinking about it even more. I love getting to celebrate my awesome husband and the amazing dad’s in my life and now them as “Pops and Papa” to Brooke. The bond that is growing between them is so incredibly fun and sweet to watch. The other day Brooke was sitting in Kevin’s dad’s lap just watching Frozen. It was such a precious moment. It brought me back to Brooke sitting in my dad’s lap and him feeding her bites of whatever he was eating. She loves sharing food with whoever is holding her.
These special moments inspired a fun, little, edible gift to go with their Father’s Day gifts – DIY “Pop”corn Trail Mix. The popcorn trail mix makes me think of them watching movies together and eating snacks together. It just brings a smile to face thinking about them spending time together. While I included a few favorite mixings of theirs, you could add your favorites and customize this idea to the “Pop” in your life. Speaking of customizing, check out this fun quiz below and see what type of dad you have. I have a “Go-To-Guy Dad” – A dad who wears many hats but rocks them all! No matter how old you are, he’ll never stop being your go-to guy for just about anything, which is why your dad means everything to you!
DIY “Pop”corn Trail Mix
Step One: Gather all of your supplies from Walmart. Don’t forget an American Greetings Father’s Day card!
Step Two: Pop your popcorn and then let it cool slightly if you are mixing in anything that melts.
Step Three: Mix your popcorn and mixings together in a cellophane bag
Step Four: Tie your bag with a bow at the top and add a cute free “Pop” printable.
Step Five: Write a sweet note in your card and put your gift in a bag to give to your dads.
We plan on giving our dad’s their “Pop”corn Trail Mix, a gift and their Father’s Day card. Cards are huge in our family because my mom owned a small boutique with greeting cards when I was younger. Needless to say, we are a card giving family for EVERY occasion. This year, we picked to cards from American Greetings at Walmart. They had such a great selection of humorous and alternative cards. Kevin and I both went with slightly more humorous cards for our dads this year. I don’t think we will get to celebrate with them on Father’s day, but we will celebrate close to the day.
We are just so incredibly thankful for our dads and the awesome example they are to us. They have taught us so much and it is just so fun to see them teach Brooke. How will you be celebrating the dads in your life this father’s day?

That is a very cute idea! Thanks for sharing. I just bought my dad’s card this morning. We like cards in our family too.
