Choosing Him: Praying For Your Husband

A handsome husband, a dream job, and plenty of money- so why wasn’t Juana Mikels happy? In a desperate attempt to find the peace and happiness she craved Mikels left it all behind. Today I want to focus on 5 different ways you can be praying for your husband in support of Mikels’ book.

Verses

There is extreme power in the written word of God. I am firm believer that it should be spoken and embedded upon our heart. If you need a little help to get you started, here are 25 Verses To Pray Over Your Husband.

Attributes

I honestly hadn’t thought about praying attributes over my husband until I read Power of a Praying Wife. In the book, the author walks you through how to pray for your husband each chapter through a different attribute or area of his life. Some example are for his integrity, fears, purpose, attitude, reputation, and priorities.

Issues

The third way you could pray for your husband would be about any issues or struggles going on in his life. Is he super stressed at work? Pray for that. Is he struggling with a friendship? Pray for him.

Ask

Not really sure what exactly your husband needs prayer for? Ask him. I wrote a post earlier this year about one question to ask your husband everyday. You would be surprised what goes in your husbands mind if you simply ask how you can be praying for him. It opens up huge lines of communication.

Yourself

Lastly, pray for yourself. Sounds kind of funny at first, but I mean in the sense that God would show you how to be a good wife and helpmate for your husband. Pray for God to show you areas in your marriage that you need to work on and areas where you can help your husband.

I really like this post. I have seen this tour around lately and I have decided I will purchase this book next month! I cannot wait to try some of these praying ideas for my hubby. I think work is stressful right now because he doesn’t seem as chirpy.
