Mary Kay® is the Official Beauty Sponsor of the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards and celebrity makeup artist, Moani Lee, has come up with three country music-inspired looks for the big event: Queen of Country, All-American Girl, and Boho Beauty. Mary Kay® kindly sent me the products for each of these looks to try out before the awards show. Let’s just say I spent hours playing with my new makeup, like I was a little girl who just discovered my mom’s makeup drawer for the first time.
I was instantly drawn to the All-American Girl products, because I love pink and neutral tones so much for everyday. I was not disappointed when I tried out the cream eye color in Pale Blush, Precious Pink Mineral Eye Color, Eyeliner in Deep Brown, Lash Love Lengthening Mascara, Strawberry Cream Mineral Cheek Color, and NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Fancy Nancy. I was slightly hesitant to try out the dark brown eyeliner, because I have always worn a jet black color. However, I was surprised how much I liked this combination with the other neutral tones. It was nice to throw away my preconceived notions about “brown” makeup.
I was drawn to a few key products right from the start. My favorites where the Precious Pink Mineral Eye Color, Strawberry Cream Mineral Cheek Color, and the Lash Love Lengthening Mascara. The Precious Pink Mineral Eye Color has just enough sparkle without being overpowering and the color is very subtle, but defining. I loved how light the Strawberry Cream Mineral Cheek Color feels when you are wearing it. At first glance, I thought the color was going to be too bright for me, but it went on so smooth and even.
I can’t lie, the Lash Love Lengthening Mascara was by far my favorite. I love the applicator and how smooth the mascara went on my eyelashes. It made my eyelashes look longer, wasn’t clumpy and helped define my eyes perfectly.
While the All-American Girl look was my overall favorite, there are definitely products I like in the other two looks. Make sure to check out the videos on the Mary Kay® website of the other two looks. You will not be disappointed! What look do you tend go for more: All-American Girl, Queen of Country or Boho Beauty?
