Football season is upon us and I am so excited for the college games and more to begin! This means good food, drinks, friends, fun bets, and of course, good football. We love hosting a few friends over for games and even occasionally a lot of friends. Being a girl, my favorite part is the socializing aspect. Here are 3 Tips for Hosting The Perfect Watch Party:
Food & Drinks: Every good party has one thing in common, food and drinks.
Food – This can range from a full meal, to finger foods, to simple snacks. I have found that simple snacks or finger foods work best for game day watch parties. People tend to stand around and graze on food or grab something they can eat quick so that they don’ t miss a play. You don’t have to go crazy, a fun party mix, chips, dip, veggies, etc will do just fine. Boys after all, eat everything.
Drinks – A variety is always good, but Dr Pepper is always a favorite. Just swing by Walmart and pick up a 2 liter bottle or 3. There Dr Pepper Cherry is really good as well. Dr Pepper is an official sponsor of the College Football Playoff and The National Championship Trophy is presented by Dr Pepper, so why not be ready to entertain like a champion with Dr Pepper. You could also win $20,000 in college tuition from them. If you visit the site, you will be able to play a digital football toss game (similar to the real thing at football conference champ game half time) for a chance to win $20,000 in tuition (can be used to pay off student loans!). Dr Pepper will be giving away free prizes as well as an additional $5,000 in tuition to one lucky winner at select Walmart locations. Check here for the times and store listings. #WinTuition
Set Up: I really enjoy little details. I think they really help set the mood and make a big difference. I have two examples in the pictures. You could use fun straws with your teams colors in your drinks. Also, you could get football decor to place snacks in or to use around the table. Using cupcake holders for a snack mix or even to hold dip on your plate work great. These are just two little ideas that are inexpensive but add a fun twist.
Relax: It is just a football game, relax. The key to hosting the perfect watch party is to have fun. Like I said above, you don’t have to slave in the kitchen making an entire meal and you don’t have to make an elaborate plans. Have everyone bring their favorite snack, add some drinks, a tv and dig in. It is suppose to be fun, not stressful.
