13 Verses on Prayer

13 verses on prayer13 Verses on Prayer

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6

Pray without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. – Psalm 145:18

Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. – Matthew 6:9-13

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. – James 5:16

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. – Matthew 26:41

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. – Romans 8:26

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. – Jeremiah 33:3

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. – Matthew 6:5-8

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. – Colossians 4:2

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. – Luke 18:1

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Brothers, pray for us. – 1 Thessalonians 5:25

I love this list- constant prayer is often forgotten in our busy lives. I recently started a prayer journal and it’s been great tracking what the Lord is doing in my life as well as the lives of people I’m praying for! Thank you for this reminder 🙂

Love this! my pastor just finished a series at our church about prayer and he referenced some of these same verses. Philippians 4:6 is one of my favorites.

I love this post! I have a list of verses that I add too when I see someone has referenced them. Because I like to go to them and read, high light, pray, and just thinking about them. I think prayer is so, very important and it’s nice to have these little reminders.

    Thanks for Sharing
