A Decade Isn’t Near Long Enough

A decade with you isn’t near long enough. Today, Kevin and I have been together for ten years. These past ten years have been incredible. It might sound corny, but it really has been a dream come true. Kevin is such an awesome husband and I feel extremely blessed that he is mine. He is my very best friend and makes me a better person. He brings so much joy to my life and is constantly making me laugh. Anniversaries always make me think back to the beginning and how we met.

Kevin and I met in high school. I was a Sophomore and he was Senior, but we ended up in the same computer class completely by coincidence. As the weeks went on, we slowing began talking and one weekend we talked basically non-stop online. That Monday, I moved and sat next to Kevin in class, because he was the shy type at first. Yes, you read that sentence right, I made the first move and sat next to him. After a couple weeks of getting to know each other, and hanging out in groups at soccer/basketball games, we went on our first date to the movies. We became boyfriend-girlfriend that night, January 27, 2006.

I can still remember how I felt that night walking out of the movies with him and talking later online. It just brings a huge smile to my face. And then, my mind recalls the coming months of falling in love with him. Loving him is as easy as breathing, he is my other half.

Speaking of love, the new Nicholas Sparks movie, The Choice, comes out in theaters on February 5th. The movie is about making difficult choices of the heart to find your destiny and perfect match. The main characters are first brought together due to an encounter between their dogs! Their adorable pets play an important (and adorable) role in the story. Along with this, like many other Nicholas Sparks stories, the setting is coastal Carolina, and North Carolina plays a big part in the story. I am a big fan of a lot of his stories and I can’t wait to see this one. What can I say, I am a sucker for a good love story. What girl isn’t?
