Best New Mom Item For Winter

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of TempTraq. All opinions are 100% mine.

best-new-mom-item-for-winterThere are so many firsts as a new parent, and a lot of them are extremely happy. The first smile, the first bath, the first blowout… but then you have, the first fever. The first fever is no fun at all. I remember the first time Brooke got an extremely high fever. If you are anything like me as a mom, you call your husband freaking out, google all your child’s symptoms, call your mom, call your friend, call the nurse line at the doctors office, and you just plain worry. Well, at least that is what I did in the beginning. You don’t get a magical book when you give birth that gives you all the answers to parenthood, you learn as you go.

img_9954The day Brooke got her first high fever, all I did was worry. I was at work and her school called me to tell me that she had a fever. I immediately went and picked her up from school. Initially, I thought it could be from teething, so I wasn’t too concerned. Then, as the afternoon went on, her fever got higher. I gave her some medicine and we cuddled on the couch. After an hour or so, I took her temperature again and it shot up to 104. I was terrified. She started looking really pale and out of it, so I decided to take her straight to the doctors office. Kevin met me there and we found out that she most likely had RSV. They informed us that all we could do was really alternate medicine and wait for her fever to go down. They said to of course monitor her and keep them updated.

img_9950That was a really long next 24-48 hours of waiting for her fever to go down completely. We checked her temperature a lot and worried a lot. The other day, I came across a product that would have made this scary time, so much easier, so I had to share about TempTraq with you. TempTraq is the only wearable bluetooth Temperature Monitor on the market that continuously monitors body temperature. Basically, it is a soft, comfortable patch that senses, records and transmits temperature data safely for up to 24 hours to either an Apple or Android mobile device through their free TempTraq app. It will even send you alerts to give you peace of mind while your baby gets their much needed sleep.

img_9953This would have been so incredible to monitor fevers Brooke was having through that season, because we wouldn’t have had to worry while she was sleeping or wake her to take her temperature.  They are gently applied and removed from the underarm area, very similar to an adhesive bandage. The app display is also very easy to read with colors that indicate the different temperature levels. You can also easily email the data to your doctor or family, and even keep track of when your child took medicine or ate or drank something.

img_9956I grabbed two of these at Target to have on hand. TempTraq is $19.99 and currently available at Target, CVS and Walgreens stores nationwide as well as TempTraq.com. It is now on my list of must haves for new moms! Buy TempTraq now, the peace of mind alone is so amazing.

This looks like a great product. The temperature of our apartment is so up and down that I’m always worried if we’ve dressed babe enough. I wish I had this when she was first born!
