10 Cool Activities for Kids
Last month, I wrote about how we are loving Disney Junior’s FRiYAY on Disney Channel this summer so I am so excited to partner with Disney Junior on this post and share how I am trying to incorporate fun activities for Brooke that remind her of her favorite shows. Last month, we made Elena’s Empanadas and this month, we are sharing 10 Cool Activities for Kids in celebration of the NEW Puppy Dog Pals episode this month. The pugs are searching the city for ways to keep Bob cool on a hot summer day and so are we! Here are 10 Cool Activities for Kids:
Eating popsicles outside was a summer favorite of mine as a kid. I remember long summer days out in the sun and cooling off with a popsicle on the back porch. You can even make your own popsicles if you are looking for an even longer activity.
Go to the Pool
Pool time was also a favorite of mine growing up. I swam competitively for a long time and really enjoy being in the pool. Brooke is loving go “schlimming” this summer. Every time we see a pool, she wants to run and jump in. She has no fear.
Run Through The Sprinklers
Sprinklers are also a great way to cool off on a warm day. They water the lawn and provide great play time. Brooke was scared of the sprinklers at first, but now she loves them. She just prefers that you run through the water with her.
Go For Ice Cream
You can even have ice cream for lunch or dinner. We do this as a family sometimes and it is so fun. We pick our own toppings and really make an event out of going for ice cream. We also like to sit outside and eat our ice cream as the sun goes down at night time.
Fill up the Kiddie Pool
While Brooke loves going to the pool, on days where we can’t, filling up the kiddie pool is a great option. It is just enough water for her and she can splash around. There are also lots of fun water activities you can do in a kiddie pool.
Hit the Beach or Lake
The beach and lake are fun ways to cool off for summer. Boating around the lake or playing the sand can be entertaining for hours. We grew up primarily around the lake so I tend to choose boating over the beach, but both are awesome!
Water Table Fun
This is a great activity for younger kids. Brooke loves her water table and likes to spend a lot of time outside playing with it. She loves to dump water on herself and watch the balls go down the slide.
Visit A Water Park
This tends to be a big activity that takes most of the day, but kids love it so much. All of the slides and different rides are so fun. I have such fond memories of water parks and can’t wait to take Brooke to one soon.
Water Gun Fight
This is the best. Grab a water gun and see who you can get the coolest! This is fun with multiple kids and even adults. A great way to stay cool.
Hang Indoors with Disney Junior
You can also stay cool by hanging out indoors and watching Disney Junior every FRiYAY this summer! During the morning block (6-10am), Disney Junior shows air on the Disney Channel. Typically, new episodes will air first on the Disney Channel first, then you can watch them all day on Disney Junior.
Brooke LOVES Disney Junior and Elena of Avalor, Puppy Dog Pals and Mickey and the Roadster Racers are her favorites! Be sure to stay cool this summer like Puppy Dog Pals and tune in every FRiYAY this summer for new episodes!
