I think December is known for being one of the busiest months. We had so many plans and got to spend a lot of time with family. Honestly, we were so excited to experience a December not filled with work. When Kevin was working in Sales, December meant every night was an 8 o’clock or later night and time off was non-existent. However, this year was WAY different. We got to spend a lot of time with family and went to Ohio for a week to ring in the New Year. We celebrated Baby Kevin’s First Christmas, First New Years and First Flight! It was a big month.
Baby Kevin is sitting up by himself VERY well so I can now leave him on the floor to play unsupervised. Also, He and Brooke are starting play well together and she “insists” we bring him in her room to play. I’m not sure how long this will last, but we will take it! Baby Kevin LOVES eating and is so over baby food. He got 6 teeth at one time this month so needless to say he has been fussy. However, his “mommy, mommy, mommy” attitude has gotten a little better. He did great on his first flight, but was terrible on our flight home (we think his ears were hurting cause he kept grabbing at them). He is in size 9-12 month clothes and size 2/3 diapers. Also, he officially stopped nursing last week and is on to whole milk, because he refuses to drink pumped milk or formula. He is sleeping from about 7:30pm to 8:30am which is glorious.
Brooke ADORES him still. She constantly wants to play with him or help him. Like I mentioned above, she makes us take him to her room to play with her. She’s a bossy big sister for sure but he loves it. She is also so helpful – if he spits up, she gets his rag and wipes him. If he cries, she brings him his pacifier and says “its okay Broyo”
Our favorite baby product of the month is Baby Kevin’s new Pottery Barn Anywhere Chair. He loves sitting in it and Brooke loves that they have matching ones. She lines them up and pretends they are a train. I cannot wait to see it in his room at our new house. One of the hardest parts for me in this transition is feeling disorganized and lacking normal spaces. I just long to finish his little room and decorate it for him. For now, I lay my expectations down and go with the flow.
