Clean Out
The first step is to clean everything out. If your schedule is packed, I highly recommend going one room at a time. Clean out your closet, then your bathroom, then your bedroom, and so on. We clean out our closets and cabinets (fridge included) every quarter. We don’t like clutter and we found that we always have things that we don’t need anymore. I have never gone through our “clean out” phase and not found anything to throw away or donate. There is always something to clean out!
Clean Up
Next, clean up. Has your mail been piling up on your counter? Do you need to organize those business receipts? Do you need to actually wipe down your fridge? Clean it up. Make sure everything has a home and all spaces are clean. We also take this time to clean ceiling fans, blinds and those extra pesky baseboards. Remember, spring cleaning is a deeper clean than your normal house cleaning routine. It focuses on those areas you do “once a quarter or maybe even once a year”.
Stock Up
Then, we like to stock up on essentials for the season. We make sure we have extra shampoo, soap, sunscreen, and especially TP!
