Being a mom has brought out so many amazing joys in my life. I feel like my kids were little missing pieces in our lives that make it so full and fun now. From kitchen dance parties, to bubble baths, to family walks, I love spending time with our kids doing something fun together as a family. It doesn’t really matter what it is, as long as we are together. I can’t wait to keep sharing so many things with them as they grow. From favorite books, to movies, I just love every moment. While some things I will have to wait to share with them until they are older, other things I can pass down right now!
My favorite childhood book
As a child, my grandparents always read my cousins and I the same book, Pickle Chiffon Pie. It has become a big family tradition that I love passing down to my kids. While they love listening to me read stories now, I know it will take a few years before I can explain the significance of the book to them. For now, I will enjoy the giggles and smiles as I read it to them without explanation of what it means to me.
Living near grandparents
Speaking of grandparents – When Kevin and I started talking about having kids, we always knew that we wanted our parents to be a big part of their lives. We had the opportunity to grow up near our grandparents and were both so close to them. We are loving that we have been able to give our kids the same opportunity. The bonds that they are creating are so special and we just love watching it.

Nighttime Prayers
Nighttime prayers are another thing we want to pass down to our babies. We started saying prayers before bed with them since they were born and around now, Brooke can recite the prayer by herself and it is such a special family time for us. Prayer is a big part of our life and we love being able to pass that on to our kids.
Our Love of Baseball
Kevin and I both have a love for Baseball. I have always loved the game and was a diamond doll in high school were I kept the books for the game. Kevin played his whole life and through college as a Pitcher. Needless to say, we have spent many hours at the ball field and it is something we hope to pass on to our kids if they like it too. We have already been able to take Brooke to a game and she had a great time.
While all of these things are important to us and we hope to pass them, we know a lot of things in life will be their decision. We will just direct them as best possible, share our loves with them and see what they love! Overall, we hope to pass down kindness and grace to them.
