You’ve been there, the dreaded snack time battle! As a kid, I always thought snack time was the absolute BEST, so I love making snack time fun for my kids. But, as a toddler mom, I quickly realized that snack time can become a battle ground quickly with hungry, cranky little ones that have a mind of their own. After too many days of the same battle, I went on a mission to solve this issue for our little family. I came up with a few convenient after-school snack options to make mom’s life a little easier, plus 4 Ways to End Snack Time Battles:
Create a “Snack Area”
My kids both love being independent and making their own decisions. Unfortunately, in the past this caused some issues with snack time. I came up with the idea to head to H-E-B, pick 5-7 “mom approved” snack options and set up a “snack area”. I have a snack area in our refrigerator for items like Marvel Avengers String Cheese Twists. The kids love the Marvel Avengers characters, so these are always a hit. I love that they are made with milk and packed with calcium and protein! We also have a snack section in our pantry. The kids know they can go to the “snack area”, pick a snack and be good to go. It only took about three days for them both to understand that they can only pick items in that “area” for snack.
Make It a Game
Another great way to end snack time battles is to make it a game! My kids love games and activities involving food so they are always a big hit.
