Today, Little Kevin was a wild man. He was standing up on the couch, running around and then diving off. Each time I was there to grab him just in time before he fell crashing down — until that last second. He dove off the couch, face first into our glass side table. He immediately began to cry. He felt the pain. I picked up him, comforted him, and gave him a drink of water to calm him down. I could help him. As a mom, I couldn’t physically imagine not being able to help my kids. I can’t imagine how I would feel to not be able to provide my child with food, to watch them go hungry.
It just hurts my soul to think about having to send my children to school hungry, or not have enough money to provide them with a good lunch which is why I was happy to partner with Church’s Chicken, Fanta and the No Kid Hungry organization.
Let me give you a real, sad number… currently, 1 in 6 children live in food insecure homes, meaning their families don’t regularly have enough food to eat. That number is mind blowing!
I know “world issues” like childhood hunger can feel huge and so overwhelming but there are three simple things YOU can do to help in small ways.
Visit Church’s Chicken.
Over the past few years combined, Church’s restaurants and their guests have raised approximately $700,000 in support of No Kid Hungry. This year, they have created a keepsake, limited-edition Church’s, No Kid Hungry and Fanta branded cup to give away with the purchase of any large beverage. 10¢ from every cup sold will go directly to No Kid Hungry.
The cups will be available at all participating Church’s restaurants nationwide, while supplies last. Every dollar raised for No Kid Hungry can provide 10 meals for children in need. That means everything we can do to raise more money ends up having a significant impact on the communities and people who count on No Kid Hungry’s efforts.
Don’t live near a Church’s location or would rather just donate directly? Head to NoKidsHungry.org/churchs and donate today! Your tax-deductible gift will provide kids in need with nutritious food and teach their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals.
Share the cause.
This is something you shouldn’t take lightly! Sharing about the cause can have such a big impact. You can do this by using your large Fanta limited edition No Kid Hungry cup throughout the month at your job and sharing about the cause with your co-workers or the people in your class. You can also do this by sharing through social media. There are so many fun ways you can get the word out about this great cause. You might be one person, but you know hundreds. By you simply sharing about this campaign, a huge impact could be made!
Fanta is fun, vibrant and bold, so I want to encourage you to be BOLD and share about No Kid Hungry and Church’s to just 3 other people you know!
