If you are traveling to Houston soon or live in the area, take note! This year to kick off Spring Break, Kevin and I wanted a Fun Getaway together. We quickly decided on The CITYCENTRE Houston because there are so many fun spots that make it a great place to stay! We love getting away for fun weekends in Houston, because there are so many great places with a lot to offer! I have been to the CITYCENTRE a lot for work lately, so I was really excited to show Kevin and explore CITYCENTRE Houston in a fun weekend getaway. Most of you know that a week before Spring Break, I suffered from 3 strokes, so the weekend didn’t go exactly as planned, but we are so thankful we still got to enjoy our weekend and have some much need alone and FUN time together. Especially after having three strokes, I just wanted to have fun with husband and relax. The CITYCENTRE was the prefect spot!
Where To Stay
The theme for our getaway was FUN, so we decided to stay at Hotel Sorella in the heart of the CITYCENTRE. Hotel Sorella is an italian-inspired luxury Hotel that features dramatic guest rooms with dark hardwood floors and an array of amenities. My favorite part is that each room comes with a beautiful view of the CITYCENTRE plaza, the Energy Corridor or downtown Houston. From the moment you arrive, it such a relaxing stay. They have a convenient Valet service and when you enter the hotel you immediately experience sophistication and elegance. Check in was a breeze and our bags were taken up to our room. Now, our room was nothing less than amazing. It featured floor-to-ceiling windows, Egyptian cotton bed linens, and goose down foam pillows. I’ll just say this, it was the most amazing night sleep I has in a long time. Did I mention it is rated a Top Hotel In Texas by Condé Nast Traveller 2018 Readers’ Choice Award? It is that awesome.
We got settled in and decided to explore the hotel. We headed up to the gorgeous pool first. It had such a beautiful view of the CITYCENTRE courtyard. After exploring, we headed to dinner which was within walking distance of the hotel.
Where To Eat
This brings me to…. where to eat. There are so many great places to eat in the CITYCENTRE and by so many, I mean I want to eat at ALL of them! They have The Tasting Room, The Capital Grille, Texas de Brazil, Yard House, Hopdoddy, Eddy V’s, Brio, Bellagreen and so many more!
Our dinner decision was VERY easy though, because they also have Grimaldi’s and Grimaldi’s is hands down one of our most favorite places to eat! Grimaldi’s Pizzeria serves award-winning, hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizzas, calzones and house made salads and desserts. Their CITYCENTRE location has such an amazing atmosphere with light music playing in the background, beautiful light fixtures, and a great outside eating space. Grimaldi’s combines classic pizzeria charm with a modern, stylish, loft-like atmosphere. Grimaldi’s also offers an extensive selection of local craft beers and wines (by the glass and bottle). Let’s just say our pizza was PERFECT!! Grimaldi’s never disappoints.
Where to Explore and Play
The restaurant was, of course, located in the CITYCENTRE. Within the CITYCENTRE, you’ll find amazing culinary options ranging from steakhouse favorites to burger bars. They also offer great shopping and entertainment such as Bowl and Barrel, Studio Movie Grill, and even an Escape Room.
After dinner, we headed to Studio Movie Grill to watch the new Captain Marvel movie. We are big fans of the Marvel movies and we had such a great experience at Studio Movie Grill. It was our first time experiencing a movie there and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service, great chairs, incredible sound and honestly fabulous prices. Also, the movie was amazing!!
Overall, this was such a relaxing, fun getaway in the CITYCENTRE Houston. I am so thankful we decided to stay at Hotel Sorella, it really pushed our getaway over the top and made the whole getaway have a fun vibe. They had it all!
