Hello everyone!! My name is Jenny and I blog over at Dancin’ With A Dolly. I am thrilled to be hanging out with Marquis this month and put together a post for you. Before I dive in, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am wife to Joey, mom to our spunky 2 year old Olivia, a photographer, a blogger and owner of four, yes four, Etsy shops. Basically an all around crazy person.
I know Mother’s Day may seem to be a ways away but May 11 will be here before you know it. I am pretty sure I am not the only one on a tight budget so I have come up with some budget friendly gift ideas.
1- Time –This may sound a bit cliche but how many of us don’t spend as much time with our mother’s as they would like? I am sure it is quite a bit of us. Simply take the time out to take your mom out to lunch or a movie. Don’t have the funds to do that how about a picnic at a nearby park? If you have siblings it would make her day that much more special if you all manage to coordinate a day where you can all take part in the chosen activity.
2- Hand Craft – Why not make something for mom?! Pinterest makes this easy for all of us with all their phenomenal inspiration. Currently I am loving all the Spring wreaths I am seeing pinned and think I may give making one of them a shot.
3- Scrapbook or Photo book – Whether you rather hand make a beautiful scrapbook or do it digitally and have a book sent to you this is sure to be a gift that gets some happy tears. Shutterfly usually haves some great deals on photo books and be sure to check for coupon codes before ordering.
4- Photosession with Mom – Have the funds to hire a photographer, great! Go to a local park or beach and have some beautiful portraits taken with mom. Don’t have that kind of money, no problem! Recruit a friend, your dad or another family member to take them for you. They don’t need to be completely professional to have a fun day and create memories and photographs to last a lifetime.
5- Frame your favorite photo – I know another idea involving photos but it is a sentimental holiday and who doesn’t love receiving one of their favorite photos framed. And guess what?! I can help you with getting a unique frame just for mom….
Remember those four Etsy shops I mentioned in my introduction?! My newest shop, Oh So Foo Foo has tons of custom, rustic frames. And I’ve been making tons of special frames for mom. You can see some of my mom collection photographed below.
And to make this gift idea even more affordable I am offering 20% OFF with code: SIMPLY20. And…I am giving you a chance to win a custom frame!! Enter below: Good luck and thanks for checking out my post! xoxo
