At Home for the Holidays

Thanksgiving is just one week away and I couldn’t be more excited. When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of two things: food and family. I can’t wait to see my family next week; we have a few Thanksgiving family traditions that I love so much. We kick off the week by watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and then our family celebrates Thanksgiving Eve by having a good meal and playing games together. Along with that, on the big day, we watch the morning parade, have lunch and then watch the Cowboys game.

 

I so look forward to these little fun family events. This year, I will be adding one more thing to my list on Thanksgiving week: watching HGTV’s new holiday show Property Brothers at Home on the Ranch which premieres Wednesday, November 25th at 9|8c . In this new series, Jonathan and Drew Scott of Property Brothers, go back to their roots as ranch kids in Alberta, Canada to help close friends of the family transform a run-down horse ranch into a dream property.

 

I absolutely love watching Property Brothers on Saturdays while I am off with Brooke, so I am looking forward to this new spin-off of the show where Jonathan and Drew go back to their country roots. My favorite part of the show is where they show how they would change up each property in the beginning and the family decides on a home. It is fun to guess which one the family will pick and see how the homes will be transformed.

 

Since the majority of the homes they transform are very modern, I am looking forward to seeing how they handle the ranch. Their family is even going to join them on the show as they reminisce about growing up on the ranch, and how the “Cowboy Code” of hard work and keeping true to your word helped them become international home renovation celebrities. I grew up in a small town, so I know ranch life is all about family and friends, which is perfect for the Holiday season. I thought Jonathan and Drew were city slickers, so it will be interesting to see if they have what it takes for life on the ranch! #BrothersatHome
