Brooke instantly became my little bff a little over a year ago. From the moment she was born, we have pretty much been inseparable. Sure, she goes to “school” and I go to work, but every moment in between, we are hanging out with each other. When I was pregnant, I didn’t really think about or realize the intense bond I would have with Brooke. That might sound funny, but I really couldn’t even imagine this level of love.
This past week, Brooke has really started reaching for you if she wants you to hold her. It is so incredibly cute. In the past she has done this a little bit, but nothing like she is now. After a week at her grandparents house, when she saw me and Kevin for the first time, it was so adorable and unforgettable. She reached out for me and then she would hug me. After a second, she would reach for Kevin to hold her and hug him. Then she would reach back for me. We kept passing her back and forth. It was so incredibly cute that she couldn’t decide who she wanted and she just wanted us both to hold her.
While she was gone, we got her a new Disney Baby Minnie Mouse Health & Grooming Kit from Walmart. The whole Disney Baby at Walmart collection is so adorable, but when I saw the Minnie Mouse hair brush and comb in the set, I knew Brooke would love it. I always loved Mickey and Minnie when I was younger and really all things Disney, so I am excited she is starting to love it too. She is even starting to sit still and enjoy Disney movies!
On Saturday morning, Brooke woke up with crazy hair and after playing with her in her room, she reached out her arms for me to hold her. I scooped her up and gave her lots of kisses. Then, she sat there and let me brush her hair with her new Minnie Mouse hair brush and get her ready for the day. Brooke is a morning baby for sure, and I love all the special moments we have with each other in the morning.
I can’t believe we just celebrated my second Mother’s Day. Last year I was a fresh, newbie mom, and for the most part I still am, but I have learned so much this year. Brooke is my little bff and I am so incredibly blessed to be her mom.
