It’s January 1st and everyone is talking resolutions. They want to save more. Travel the world. Lose those extra Christmas pounds or maybe even buy a house. So many resolutions. While many resolutions will never meet February, some will and I urge you to consider making resolutions with your spouse for your marriage that will stick for life. One of the best things you can do for your marriage is cultivate loving resolutions with sincerity that will last more than the year. These can be small daily gestures of care or big gestures of life change. Don’t let this be overwhelming. Sit down together and pick maybe 3 – 5 to put into place. If you prefer to put these into place individually, that is great as well! We resolve to:
Have no cell phones in bed.
Keep Christ first in our marriage.
Pray together daily.
Have date night twice a month.
Read the bible together.
Attend worship together weekly.
Compliment each other in front of others often.
Be on the same page with your finances.
Gross out our kids with our affection.
Volunteer together more.
Read a marriage book together.
Communicate better with each other.
Fight less and forgive easier.
Have family dinners with no cell phones two times a week.
Spend time with other couple friends once a month.
Laugh together more. And more.
Serve your spouse without expectations.
Hold Hands Often.
Encourage One Another.
